Product Positioning
XS-DC-48X25-8X100-TOR-G2 is the xSONiC 25G top-of-rack option for data center
teams standardizing server access on 25G while keeping 100G uplink capacity for
leaf-to-spine fabrics.
The xSONiC SKU keeps the performance profile visible: 48 ports of 25G server access,
8 ports of 100G uplink capacity, a ToR deployment role, and a second-generation
Falcon-class hardware mapping.
Core Capabilities
- Provides 48x25G SFP28 downlink capacity for dense server racks.
- Adds 8x100G QSFP28 uplinks for spine, aggregation, or data center fabric
connectivity.
- Supports Enterprise SONiC capabilities including BGP-EVPN, EVPN multihoming,
VXLAN overlays, RoCEv2, PFC, ECN, and congestion-aware fabric operations.
- Uses Marvell Falcon 2.0T switching silicon with route capacity suitable for
larger BGP and multi-tenant virtual network environments.
- Fits operational workflows that rely on ZTP, Python, Ansible, telemetry, and
SPAN or ERSPAN monitoring.
Technical Notes
- Switching capacity: 2.0Tbps.
- Packet forwarding rate: 2,600Mpps.
- IPv4 and IPv6 route capacity profile: 288K IPv4 routes and 144K IPv6 routes.
- Packet buffer: 24MB.
- Latency profile: approximately 1400ns.
- Power and cooling: 1+1 hot-swappable power supplies and 3+1 hot-swappable
fan redundancy.
- Physical profile: 1RU, 44 x 440 x 515mm, front-to-rear airflow.
Typical Deployment Scenarios
Use XS-DC-48X25-8X100-TOR-G2 in racks where 25G server access is the standard
and the fabric needs clean 100G uplinks into spine or aggregation layers. It is
especially suitable for cloud service provider pods, enterprise private cloud
racks, and latency-aware environments that need RoCE-ready Ethernet fabric
features without moving directly to 100G server access.
